  • Flat Fee listing: custom Zillow advertisement? Disable 3rd party website syndication?

    Hi.

We are hoping to use Hauseit to post to the HGMLS.

We understand that the HGMLS syndicates to Zillow, among other 3rd party websites. We would like to know whether Hauseit provides a mechanism to override the syndicated information to Zillow? Or, can we simply choose to disable 3rd party website dissemination?

Thanks very much for your help.

    John

Thanks for your great question John! The HGMLS does automatically syndicate to a few sites including Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com and LoHud, as well as scores more through ListHub (a listing syndicator).

The information that is syndicated to Zillow is the same information that is syndicated to all other public search websites, so in that respect the HGMLS cannot syndicate custom information just for one website such as Zillow.

With that said, if for some reason you'd prefer to list your home only on the HGMLS but not on any other public websites (perhaps for privacy reasons), this can certainly be accommodated on most MLS systems.

We've included a helpful article in the link below on various ways to sell a home privately, and having it listed only on the MLS but not public websites is one such method!
Selling a house privately involves trading full buyer exposure for more personal privacy. MLS only, FSBO or pocket listings are typical ways to sell privately.
