How to Reset Your Listing’s Days on Market on the OneKey MLS

The only way to immediately reset your home’s days on market to zero on the OneKey MLS is by listing with a different brokerage. There is no requirement for you to be off market for any number of days before you’re eligible to restart your listing’s day count by relisting with a new broker.

This means you can immediately relist with another brokerage and reset your day count to zero, assuming your current listing agreement has expired or provided your current agent permits early termination.

If you continue working with your existing listing agent, the day count may only reset if the listing is withdrawn or canceled and remains off the market for at least 60 days.

Re-list on the OneKey MLS and save up to 6% in commission with a Hauseit Agent Assisted FSBO Listing.

The rules for days on market and resetting a listing’s day count on the OneKey MLS are outlined in Section 3. Administration of Listings in the OneKey Rules and Procedures:

OneKey Rules and Procedures (Version 2022E)

Section 3. Administration of Listings

310. Listing Contract Changes and Modifications

310.6 Original Listing Date Retained

When listing information is changed or if the Property is re-listed by the same listing broker before the original expiration or extended expiration date of the original listing, and the Property Class remains the same, then the listing shall retain its original listing date. The only exception to this is if the listing was Withdrawn or Cancelled and remained off the market for at least sixty (60) days, then in this case a new listing can be signed and entered with the new listing date.

The OneKey MLS is much more flexible than the REBNY RLS in NYC, as the latter requires you to be off market for 90 consecutive days in order to reset your day count, regardless of whether you change brokerages.

Note that your listing’s days on market (DOM) on the OneKey MLS will continue to accrue even if you temporarily change your listing status to TOM (Temporarily Off Market). The day count on your listing does not pause during the time it’s marked as TOM.

The only way to immediately reset your home’s days on market in the OneKey MLS to zero is by listing with a different brokerage. If you continue working with your existing listing agent, the day count may only reset if the listing is withdrawn or canceled and remains off the market for at least 60 days.

For example, let’s say you list your home on March 1st and you place your listing on TOM status from March 5th through March 11th. Your listing’s day count on March 11th will be 11 days.

This reflects the total number of days since you initially listed with an Active status without any deduction for the 7 days during which your property was under TOM status.
